Hey there, I’m Carly – the 'I' and 'my' behind behind Saorsa Studio!

I’m a self-taught London based website designer and developer with a passion for creating impactful websites. After quitting my 9-5 back in 2021, I joined a design studio building custom-coded websites for start-ups in a range of exciting sectors. Deciding to take things a step further, I set off for a 10 day intensive coding bootcamp in Bali. Why Bali? Why not! Taking everything I've learned from these incredible experiences, I decided to start Saorsa Studio - creating beautiful websites tailored just for you.

Through the creation of custom-coded websites, my mission is to provide entrepreneurs with a virtual space that authentically represents their brand.

Get to know me

Born in? Scotland but I've been living in London since 2016. Where next? Who knows. Watch this space...

What was your previous job before this? Before deciding that 9-5 life wasn't for me, I was an Office Manager for six years at a London based start-up. You can read about my full career switch over on my blog.

Favourite job you've had? During my uni years, I spent three of my summers working at Walt Disney World in Florida! It now feels like a lifetime ago, but I have so many amazing memories of my time there.

Favourite destination? I completely fell in love with New York. I'm a city girl through and through.

The Saorsa Story

Behind the brand name

'Saorsa' [sor-sha], a Scottish Gaelic word meaning 'freedom,' lies at the core of who I am and what Saorsa Studio represents. In the midst of the pandemic, I made a pivotal decision—to break free from the monotonous 'eat, sleep, work, repeat' routine and pursue my dreams. After six long years in the corporate world, I said goodbye to my 9-5 office job. Why invest precious time building someone else's dream when I could create my own path?

Freedom is a personal concept, unique to each individual. For me, it meant liberating myself from the corporate world and embarking on an entirely new career path. Saorsa Studio is the manifestation of this pursuit — a venture that not only embodies my personal freedom but also empowers small business owners like you to achieve theirs.
